May 2002

May 15, 2002. Oceanside, CA.  After an interesting travel month, we are back in the San Diego area to wait for the impending arrival of grandchild #2. We've "been silent" for a month since we've had very limited access to the internet and cellphones.

Our travel throughout the southern part of UT and along the Colorado River in AZ the last several weeks was extremely interesting. It's an area that I never realized was so beautiful and one we recommend to everyone to see if at all possible. We loved Bryce Canyon National Park, but also found Arches National Park in Moab, UT was terrific. While in Moab, we were with the Compuserve RV Forum group as well as Chris' sister and brother-in-law who were able to join us for a few days. We went off-roading to see some incredible views in the Moab area, as well as to see dinosaur footprints! On our return to San Diego, we traveled a day with another golfer and stopped in Farmington, NM where Chris played golf on an excellent course (second time there in 6 months!), later we stopped by Canyon de Chelly, an area of ancient cliff dwellings on a Navajo Reservation, then on to Lake Havasu to see London Bridge, then to Yuma (HOT! 100+), and finally to San Diego.
