A few sights around Roanoke, VA
ABOVE: Roanoke WAY in the distance, a lovely farm we saw
on a drive, a picturesque mill
Roanoke is located in a long valley between two mountain ranges, so there are
views of the hills all around. The view above would be similar from many
different vantage points...gentle rolling hills all around. Lovely farmland with
old farmhouses all around.
BELOW:
Mabry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway, the most photographed site on the Parkway...for obvious reasons!
Along with the mill there are other examples of "early living"...homes, blacksmith shop, even a moonshine still! This is one of our favorite places on the Parkway. We're eager to watch Spring arrive here! (We were here 3 years ago in the early Spring...one of our first trips in the RV!)
