Austin, TX...DELAY! We're here, but the RV is 400
miles away in Odessa, TX awaiting word on whether it needs a whole new radiator
or not! Our travels from San Diego were uneventful until Ft. Stockton, and
done in gorgeous weather. The first night we stayed in Picacho Peak State Park
just west of Tucson, AZ. HIGHLY recommended! Lovely large sites, 50 amp power,
peace and quiet and very dark skies!

However, two nights later when we arrived in Ft. Stockton, TX at the KOA
campground, Chris noticed we were leaking coolant...badly. The end result
was that the only place that was able to take care of us was in Odessa, 90 miles
away. So, we waited 2 days for the tow truck to come and take us
there...but not wanting to waste time, we took advantage of being near Big Bend
National Park and drove in there for a day in the Jeep. It was enough of an
introduction to this out-of-the-way park, to let us know we would like to return
to spend more time.

We'll return to Odessa tomorrow to see what the verdict is with the rig. We might have to pack up more "stuff" and retreat to a motel for a few weeks. Not fun at the holidays...but we're safe and happy to be near family at least.

Update Dec. 31...AOK with the rig. Fixed in Odessa and arrived in Austin in time for Christmas. Shall now enjoy Texas for the winter. Happy New Year to all and may all your travels be safe! Thanks for coming along with us on our journey!
