APRIL 2006

Heceta Head Lighthouse, Florence, Oregon...still our favorite

April 2006...our 40th anniversary, so what  better place to spend it than to visit Heceta Head Lightstation's Bed and Breakfast for 2 nights! Heavenly!

It remains my favorite place to photograph, so I'll indulge myself and put up a bunch...but only thumbnails, so you don't have to look at them all..unless you want to. As usual, the B & B was excellent!

Pure magic to see...

We returned to southern California for a quick visit with family, then headed back to Oregon (where Chris was due to work for 2 months) via the more coastal route which avoids the mountains, but has its own hazards with route 101 which is becoming a tenuous road in many places...Mother Nature is winning the battle. We encountered quite a number of single lane areas but it was still quite passable with our 40' motorhome and Jeep. We stayed at the KOA in Willits which is unique with its own Frisbee Golf and nature trails, not to mention a lovely setting.

Point Cabrillo Lighthouse, south of Fort Bragg, CA

We continued up route 101 revisiting favorite places...this is one of them. We were happy to see that the renovation of the lighthouse is complete and that of the keeper's houses is almost complete.
