Bluebonnets in Burnet, TX

Field after field of Bluebonnets are blooming now in the Texas Hill Country and beyond...sometimes mixed with small yellow flowers, sometimes with hot pinks, more frequently with the reds of the Indian Paintbrushes. Here's a typical scene of ranchland with bluebonnets as far as you can see.  The Texas DOT uses  wildflower seeds on the roadsides now, so the roadways are now lined with the flowers...but this is the natural way they looked in the fields we saw.

If you're in the area of I-35 heading towards Dallas from San Antonio, make sure to take a detour to see the town of Salado (Exit 285)...an antiquing paradise. Lovely little shops, antique stores, restaurants, etc. The streets are wide so you can probably find a place to park your rig. Nice place to take a break.
