Map of our 2004 Travels December 2004
Merry Christmas to y'all! Look who we found while strolling through Salado, TX! Santa found time to visit briefly with us while we were visiting with our friends who live on the ranch next to our campground. He runs carriage rides through Salado on the weekends, so we had just taken a carriage ride with him to see all the lovely lights. Salado is a wonderful stop midway between Dallas and Austin. (Note for RVers...plenty of easy wide streets to park on, so don't hesitate in getting off I-35!) Photos above were taken during Salado's Christmas Stroll Dec. 3 & 4, 10 & 11 (thumbnails...click to enlarge)
Update Dec. 10, 2004....we're heading west from TX...Santa, please note! A terrific stopover en route to CA from TX: Kartchner
Caverns State Park, just west of Benson, AZ The campground was beautiful...we would have stayed longer if we hadn't had plans we couldn't change. Electric and water and excellent dump station. Plenty of larger sites for 40' motorhomes. Do stop for several days! The nights are very dark...bring your telescope!
We also took a quick trip over to Tombstone, less than 30 minutes away. Fun place to visit...it was empty this Wednesday in mid-December.
If you "soon-to-be-Fulltimers" have any questions, please email them and I'll try to answer them. Safe travels to all! (Check out "Our Lifestyle" on the left for information I've just posted on what our typical day is like!)
Please email us with suggestions for places to visit...or catch us up on YOUR news! We'd love to hear from you! janreed1@mindspring.com or cjm64@earthlink.net
